Beer at the Pier, a new all-Ohio craft-beer fest, will benefit Cleveland Metroparks

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Beer at the Pier, a first-year event designed to raise money for the Cleveland Metroparks Trails Fund, is scheduled for 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Edgewater Park.
It will feature all Ohio beers.
"We had worked with Matt Cole at Fat Head’s, and he was talking around the idea," said Sanaa Julien, Cleveland Metroparks chief marketing officer. " ‘What kinds of things can we do at Edgewater to experience the lake?’ He tossed the idea: ‘How do you feel about featuring a beer event down here?’ "
Cole has said repeatedly he and members of his staff are avid users of Metroparks trails. His created Trail Head Pale Ale ; portions of its sales go to the fund ."It’s as much about celebrating craft beer of Ohio as the Great Lakes and enjoying the waterfront," said Julien, who added the money will go to maintenance and the building of trails.
