New beers and a festival celebrate Oregon’s favorite brews: craft beer and good coffee

Yes, he was talking about Maxwell House, but he certainly could’ve been speaking for most Portlanders. And it’s a good bet he would’ve loved Portland-roasted coffee even more than the stuff in the can. Especially when combined with Oregon craft beers by our talented brewers, and there’s a good bit of coffee/beer buzz happening right now with new coffee beers from a couple of breweries and the Northwest Coffee Beer Invitational set to return a week from Saturday.
Laurelwood is getting set to release Organic Portland Roasting Espresso Stout , another collaboration with Portland Roasting. "Every fall the brew staff looks foreword to picking out that year’s coffee blend," says Laurelwood bewmaster Shane Watterson. "Portland Roasting does a great job with their coffee and they have a lot of organic options for us to blend, so it’s always a really fun experience finding the coffee for our stout each year."
