Overtime in Urbandale reopening with a craft beer focus
(Photo: Overtime Beerhouse/Special to the Register) Overtime Beerhouse will open Friday at 4810 86th St. in Urbandale. The business, which has changed owners a couple of times in the past year, is returning to the original operators of the bar and restaurant.
"We are back and better than ever," said Kristi Cobb.
Cobb bought Overtime from her parents, Jerry and Kim Cobb, and has rebranded it with an emphasis on craft beer. She ran Overtime for her parents, who moved to Arizona last year, until her parents sold the business to Cindy Barnes-Stone. Barnes-Stone operated Overtime for about seven months before turning it back over to the Cobbs last month.
Cobb has made some changes including redecorating the interior with a vintage sports theme and adding four more big screen televisions.
There are 24 beers on tap, three of which are domestic brews. The others are craft and microbrewery beers, including four from Iowa – Exile Brewing and Confluence Brewing, both of Des Moines, Backpocket Brewery from Coralville, and Firetrucker Brewery in Ankeny.
