Sprechen sie craft beer? Wurstfest says yes!
Wurstfest in New Braunfels is adding a Craft Beer Biergarten this year with 60 taps. This is new, but beer has long been part of the Wurstfest tradition, as this 2003 photo demonstrates.(AP Photo/San Antonio Express-News, Bob Owen) I love Wurstfest , the annual festival where you get to hang out in New Braunfels, eat all the sausage and fried pickles you want, listen to interesting music and drink beer by the pitcher. It’s a fine Texas tradition and, although I admit I haven’t been in several years now, I love knowing that it’s just a few hours drive away.
For 2014, the organizers have given us all 60 new reasons to love it even more.
That’s how many taps have been set aside on the festival grounds this year for a craft beer biergarten featuring brews from 15 craft breweries, including two open right there in New Braunfels.
