Wicked Weed Menage-A-Freak Triple IPA helps kick off 2014 Asheville Beer Week

(Asheville, NC) – In celebration of the now third annual Asheville Beer Week, Wicked Weed Brewing will release their much sought after Menage-A-Freak Triple IPA . Previously known as the Freak of Nature, this beer is a brewpub release that is only available at the end of May every year.

“The first year we released this beer people were in love. We kept getting asked again and again if it would be a regular release but that, unfortunately, is something we can’t make happen,” said Luke Dickinson, Head of Brewing at Wicked Weed.

Menage-A-Freak is hopped at a rate 6 pounds per barrel, with the average IPA in the country hopped at less than half that average. There are 95 pounds of beer-absorbing hops used in the brewing of this beer. That means what starts as a 17 barrel batch turns into 13 barrels when all is said and done.
